As with every sport you need the right attire for the sport. The number one thing that you will need is a glove this should not be a rushed purchase you should take your time and try on several different ones before choosing the one that you want.
The other thing that you will want to get right away is a good pair of cleats that you can use. This will help prevent your feet from sliding around on the grass and causing you to have injuries to your body.
There are other things that you will need as well, but the most important is to have a glove that you like and feel comfortable in. the rest of the stuff like a bat, ball, helmet, you can pick up at a later time.
